The evolution of the Volvo Iron Mark
It is instantly recognizable as the embodiment of a proud brand.
The Volvo Iron Mark logo has confidently ridden on the grilles of our vehicles for over 75 years,
reinforcing our commitment to safety and quality. Now the Iron Mark has evolved once again to
compliment the distinctive design of the new Volvo cars.
As the symbol widely used for steel, the iron mark represents what Volvo stands for - it is the ultimate symbol of strength,
durability and staying power. The 1927 Iron Mark was simple and powerful. The Volvo name was added to the later versions and
quickly became synonymous with this commanding symbol, and remains to this day.
The Design
The Iron Mark has been around for 75 years but is currently only used as a 3D logo on our products.
